The book "Modern Essays" contains 33 articles on important days arranged in chronological order. The days are recommended for celebration/observation by the Govt. of India in its NSS Manual. A picture has been shown in each article to symbolize the content of the day. This book incorporates the international and national days proclaimed recently i.e., during the year 2007, viz., International Day of Non-violence and National Statistics Day.
