This is the amazing story of a woman, whose selfless giving made her one of the living saints of the world. On a train traveling from Darjeeling to Kolkata, a nun received the call, ‘to be God’s love in action to the poorest of the poor’. Thus began Mother Teresa’s life long journey in the service of mankind. For Mother Teresa, charity meant giving till it hurt. She founded the order of the Missionaries of Charity. Today, the blue-bordered, white sarees of the nuns have become a symbol of selfless charity and caring. In 1979, when Mother Teresa was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, she received it ‘in the name of the hungry, the naked, the homeless, of the cripples, of the blind, of the lepers, of all those who feel unwanted, unloved, uncared for throughout society’.
