Immigrant literature, native writing and cross-cultural studies-are the burgeoning areas of contemporary Canadian writing, and these truly represent the fact of multicultural Canada. The rich diversity of Canada has great similarity to the cultural scenario in India, a country which constitutes several regions and languages. The issue of multiculturalism has acquired importance and urgency in view of the problems inherent in a mix of people with different ethnicities and religions, living together. The present volume, with its interesting collection of contributions, will help create greater awareness of the way Canada and India, two important countries of the Commonwealth, are emerging as vibrant multicultural societies.
