Through Naqsh, the author explores and documents exhaustively in detail the art of wood carving of traditional architecture of Gujarat. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Jay Thakkar

Jay Thakkar, born 1976, India, was awarded Diploma in Interior Design from School of Interior Design, C.E.P.T., India, 2000 and Masters in Visual Communication from Birmingham Institute of Art & Design, UCE, U.K., 2004. he has received two Gold medals (2000 & 2001) from School of Interior Design, C.E.P.T. and Gujarat Institute of Architects & Civil Engineers, India, for Excellence in Research and Interior Design. He has also received Visual Communication Scholarship from Birmingham Institute of Art & Design, UCE, U.K. He has worked on Internationally known Indo-French project of Revitalization of Walled City of Ahmedabad, India, where the application of this research can be observed.
