This book provides a historical perspective of the conceptual evolution of human rights and the institutional underpinning for the protection of the rights of citizens in contemporary Indian politics. Within this larger frameworks, the study focusses on the role of the National Human Rights Commission of India sine its origin.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Arun Ray
Dr. Arun Ray graduated from Bhadrak College, Orissa. He received his M.A. Degree from the Utkal University and both M. Phil and Ph.D. (Political science) degree from the Jawaharlal Nehru University New Delhi. He was Previously Research Fellow at the National Human Rights Commission, New Delhi. He was a receipient of the Swedish International Development Agency Scholarship for his doctoral work. Presently, he teaches Women’s Studies at Utkal University, Orissa.
