The neocolonial writers intended the pathos and emotive power of their works to instigate the oppressors to initiate a political and economic reorganization of society in the interest of the oppressed.. Neocolonial writers have established their challenges in narration and discursive terms.

Smita Sinha holds M.A. Linguistics (Delhi), M.Phil., Linguistics (Delhi), Ph.D. Linguistics (BU) degrees. She has been teaching Linguistics as a faculty member in the Postgraduate Department of Linguistics, Berhampur University, Berhampur, Orissa, India, since completing her M.Phil. Dr. Sinha is an applied linguist and specializes in language teaching, socio-linguistics, gender studies and tribal studies. Her major publications include the edited book “Empowerment of Women: language and Other facets†and various articles in national and international journals.
