Non-Roman Ancient Foreign Coins From Karur in India

Ramasubbu Krishnamurthy had his College education at Dr, Alagappa College, Karaikudi and Presidency College, Madras. He had the distinction of obtaining the first rank in Geology in the graduate and Post-graduate level. Krishnamurthy is a member of professional bodies devoted to numismatics and epigraphy and has published a number of learned papers in scholarly journals. He has to his credit seven books on subjects related to numismatics and epigraphy in Tamil. He was awarded the prestigious 'Bidulph' medal by the Numismatic Society of India for his discoveries of ancient Tamil coins with Tamil-Brahmi legend. At present, he is the Editor of Dinamalar, a mass circulation Tamil daily, published from several centres.
