ABOUT THE AUTHOR R.K. Goel

Dr. R.K. Goel, is currently working as Senior research Officer in Central Silk Board, Bangalore. He did post graduation in Biochemistry from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh) in 1978 and got doctorat3e degree in Life Science from Guru Ghasi Das University, Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh). He also did Post Graduate Diploma in sericulture Management from International centre for Research & Training in tropical Sericulture, Mysore in 1993-94 and Diploma in Management from Indira Gandhi national Open university, New Delhi. He has undergone overseas training on advanced technologies in oak Tasar at Sericulture research Institute, Fengcheng, P.R. China. The author has worked for more than 25 years in different field of sericulture industry in different capacities an has got wide experience in nonmulbery sericulture especially tropical and oak tasar. He has worked in research, seed production and extension as well and presently posted at the Project Formulation Appraisal and Evaluation cell of the central Silk Board. The author has published more than 40 research papers/technical articles in national and international journals and also participated in various seminars/conferences workshops held in the field of sericulture. He has also authored one book “Oak Tasar Culture –Aboriginal of Himalayas” and associated with the formulation of about 30 development projects on silk industry.
