Offences against women are multi-dimensional, and scholars have looked at them in their various perspectives. Learned authors of this book have focussed their attention on the socio-legal perspective, which is probably the most important and most relevant. Most of the offences are due to social conditions and law has to take care of them. Though women make almost half the society, they are still the worst victims of social injustice and degrading criminal assaults. The authors of this book have made efforts to make a searching look at the various aspects which give rise to offences against women.
