ABOUT THE AUTHOR Dinesh Rawat

Dinesh Rawat is Reader of Psychology at the Dayal college, Ranikhet (Uttaranchal). He received his Ph.D. in social psychology from H.N.B. Garhwal University. After a visiting professorship at CCS and assistant and associate professorships at DAV College, Ambala, he joined the faculty of Dayal college. His research interests are in health psychology, especially the factors that promote long-term psychological adjustment, and in social cognition. In the former capacity, he is the codirector of the Health Psychology programe at Dayal College. He is the recipient of a number of awards, most notably the Indian Psychological Association's Distinguished Scientific Contribution to Psychology Award and an Outstanding Scientific Contribution Award in Health Psychology. He is the author of more than 40 publications in journals and books and is also the author of many books.
