The world around us revolves around stories and poems. History is a story of the past. Art is the story of human perception. Politics is the story of society and how it reacts to changing sets of rules. Religion is a story of faith or the lack of it. And even literature is nothing, but the story of the greatest stories told. Then is it really a surprise that human beings love to hear and tell stories in equal measure.
