Parry’s Cyclopedia of Perfumery: A Handbook (In 2 Volumes)

The need for a scientific work of reference devoted to perfumery and its raw materials has long been felt, and it is hoped that the publication of the present volumes will go some way towards meeting that want.  Formulae for finished perfumes are not dealt with.  In the first place, really good formulae are rarely published, and the best of those that are merely in index to the perfumer, giving him hints as to the direction in which he should experiment.  Where such formulae are required they will be found to a more or less unlimited extent in books of a more empirical character.
