Patents practices and procedures is an attempt to simplify complex nature of Patent Act, provisions and rules to make it more understandable and useful for both beginners as well as practitioners in the field. Several solved examples of patent specifications have been given to make the concept and the way of writing specifications a smooth learning experience. Various judgements on important topics of patent, reflecting upon varied aspects of patents practices and procedures have been incorporated. Keeping in mind the synergies between domestic and international nature of patents, all major treaties including PCT have been dealt with to facilitate learning and understanding of patents.

Rajinder Kumar Jain, (M.A., Ph.D.) was a Professor of Mathematics at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. Presently, Dr. Jain is a Professor of Mathematics in the Department of Applied Sciences, Manav Rachna College of Engineering, Faridabad, Haryana. Dr. Jain`s research specialisation is Numerical Analysis. He has a large number of research publications in National and International Journals of repute in the area of Numerical Analysis. He is a coauthor of a number of books on Numerical Analysis and Advanced Engineering Mathematics. Dr. Jain worked as visting faculty at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada; Cranfield Institute of Technology, U.K. and RMIT, Australia.
