Payment of Daily Wages Labour in India

“Payment of Wages of Agricultural Labour” contains Six Chapters. The Study has to be presented in the following chapters viz., (i) Agricultural Labour Systems of Orissa, (ii) Overview of Literature, (iii) Methods & Respondents, (iv) Living Standards of Agriculture Labourers, (v) Evaluative Study of Government Policy, (vi) Concluding Observation and Policy Implication of the study. This stud examines the entire gamut of issue relating to agricultural labourers, covering problem, development perspectives and Government policies. The following objectives of the study are mentioned below viz., (i) This work attempts to make a brief survey about the history of agricultural laboureres in India with special reference to Orissa. (ii) The study aims at reviewing the esixting literature on agricultural labourers and to find out the research gaps. (iii) The objective of the study is to analysis of tribal and coastal regions. (iv) To survey the legislative measures adopted protecting the interest of agricultural labourers. (v) Finally, the study besides presenting the summary conclusion attempts to suggest policy measures for ameliorating the living conditions of agricultural labourers in Orissa. This study presents a dispassionate analysis of the various issues at stake, their implication, particularly in the context of Orissa economy. This study will be immensely useful to the labour administrators, researchers, planners and policy makers.
