This book contains folk perception of environment. It is an exploratory exposition of the folk wisdom and knowledge expressed in the classification and categorization of the natural resources. The folk defined in this book as the communities residing in the countryside who are usually introduced as the Santar and the Kol. They claim that they are the autochthones. They classify the plant and animal species with their science, knowledge and wisdom. Thus folk taxonomy is revealed. They similarly use separate lexeme for identification of colour and food taste which has been portrayed through ethno science in cognitive model.
