Relevance of the basic science of Plant Physiology has been highly recognized for holistic agricultural development. Plant Physiology is in essence the foundation of plant molecular biology. Judicious knowledge of the extensive researches carried out in the last several decades have been radiating immense knowledge for manipulation of crop development for improving their yield efficiency. The underlying mechanisms of plant responses to abiotic stresses and plant nutrition have been known up to molecular level, though efforts are being made to understand intricate physiological, biochemical and molecular mechanisms under varied agro-climatic conditions in crops and their varieties either individually or in groups. Our objective is to publish innovative science of value across the broad disciplinary range and hence, the publication of the book entitled "Physiological Efficiency for Crop Improvement", which could have been possible for invigorating the science of agriculture and crop production under Crop Improvement Programme, especially under the changing climate.
