Phytonematology

This is the first comprehensive text and reference book on plant nematology. It is intended for the graduate and postgraduate students, researchers, teachers and administrators in phytonematology and allied disciplines. Up-to-date information has been incorporated in the volume both from the advanced and developing countries, from frontlines to those downstream researches that make the body of scientific principles and practices, and from the earliest pioneers to the current workers through the landmarks. Various nematodes, hosts, climates, agroecosystems and management practices have been covered to present a reasonably global picture of the science and art of phytonematology. Nematodes are at their worst in the subtropical and tropical areas, where most of the developing and poor countries are located. Nematode problems of subtropical and tropical areas including those of the Indian subcontinent have been specially dealt with. Contributions to phytonematology from these parts of the world are considerable yet not so reflected in major reviews, advanced serials and texts.
