Plant Cytogenetics, Breeding and Evolution

Having passed M.Sc (Botany) with an outstandingly brilliant academic career throughout with first position and previous record breaking marks, from Govt. College, Ajmer in 1952, Dr. Y.D. Tiagi taught UG and PG classes in Agra College, University of Saugar (now rechristened as Dr. Harisingh Gour Vishvavidyalaya), University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, Jiwaji University, Gwalior in various capacities and as Professor of Botany in the now Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur from where he superannuated in the year 1990. Prof. Y.D. Tiagi is a rare example of having done Post-Doctoral research in the erstwhile USSR. Prof. Tiagi has 36 doctorates to his credit all of whom have occupied high positions like Vice-Chancellor and professors in Universities. With a unique record of 57 years of teaching biological sciences both to the UG and PG classes. He is working at present as Principal, Life science Faculty, Apex Institute of Management and science, Jaipur and as usual is very actively engaged even now in teaching of Biotechnology and Microbiology both to UG and PG classes.
