This work is issued as a practical introduction to Polish, a language spoken by about thirty millions of people. The volume contains carefully selected and comprehensive vocabularies, conversational phrases and sentences, such as are wanted daily by tourists, travellers, business men, civil and military officers, and all who require to use the spoken language for the purposes of business or pleasure. By means, of Marlborough’s well-known and popular system of phonetics, into which the Polish words are transcribed, any English-speaking person can read and speak the words and phrases intelligibly at a glance and so make himself understood without previous acquaintance with the language. A full outline of the Grammar is included and increases both the interest and usefulness of the book.
