Manipur being a state inhabited by different ethnic groups has been engulfed with more problems that are mainly of political, economic, social, linguistic and ethnic character. The present book has thus, not only discussed the social background of the tribal groups but also their economic positions besides their political attitudes and preferences. It also attempts to make an in-depth study of ethnic identity crisis and conflicts in Manipur and its effect in the political system of the state. Keeping in view of the present political scenario, the book is a comparative analysis of the empirical situations and patterns instead of confining only to theoretical approach.
