Post-Independence Indian Writing in English is a modest attempt to evaluate the Indian writing in English after Independence. It contains 24 research papers concerning the various aspects of Indian writing in English. It covers almost all the great writers of Post-independence Indian writing, such as Raja Rao, Bhabani Bhattacharya, V.S. Naipaul, Kamala Markandaya, Anita Desai, Kamala Das, Shashi Deshpande, Girish Karnad, Mahesh Dattani, Arundhati Roy, Kiran Desai, Jhumpa Lahiri. The first article presents the history of post-independence Indian writing in English in brief. The next three articles deal with the trends regarding Indian writing in English. A special attempt has been made to design the book to cater the needs of the readers and scholars wishing to be acquainted with the various aspects of post-independence Indian writing in English.
