In the field of study and teaching of the subject library and information science, Cataloguing is recognised in two separate papers, i.e. theoretical cataloguing and practical cataloguing in the syllabii of B.Lib. Sc and M. Lib. Sc. courses in various universities in the country. In practical cataloguing, the practice of preparing entries on cards is done for constructing the catalogue of the libraries to satisfy various types of approaches of the users, for which, presently there are two cataloguing codes in India, which are being used immensely in the libraries and the same are treated as a subject of study and teaching. The present book Practical Cataloguing (CCC) is written by us for preparing entries of the books according to the rules of Dr. Ranganathan Classified Catalogue Code. In the book the whole matter has been divided into so many chapters and the process of preparing entries of various types of books, from simple to multi-volumed or composite books, has been clarified in a very simpler way with the help of so many examples, so that every user of our book may understand clearly the rules of the same code. Hope, the book will be more useful to the students of B.Lib.Sc. as well as of M.Lib.Sc. courses.
