ABOUT THE AUTHOR Vijaya Somasundaram

Vijaya Somasundaram, a Professor of a Media and communication Studies, received his MSc and PhD degrees in Journalism and Mass Communication in 1993 and 1996, respectively. His main research areas include the mass communication, digital media, and the internet. He has been a regular commentator on global media issues with appearances on radio and television programmes and commentaries for newspaper and magazine articles. He has been a visiting scholar in Canada, USA, and Australia. Dr. Vijaya leads several research projects on mass communication and is active in national and international projects on wireless communications. He has authored two books and over 30 scientific papers.
