The present revised and enlarged text book embodies all these aspects divided in 13 chapters. The language of the text is simple and the subject matter is illustrated with figures and tables wherever necessary. The present text is an outcome of the compilation of recent advances in areas of fruit, plantation and spice crops, floriculture etc. available on the basis of research done by the scientists in India and especially Maharashtra. Help has been taken from a number of standard books, journals, research and review papers presented at various national and state level seminars to update the text and have been duly acknowledged in references listed at the end of the book. The list of medicinal and aromatic plants with their nomenclature and use is given in the appendix. The book by no means claims to be exhaustive on the entire subject but tries in a modest way in presenting the subject in a systematic manner, the way in which authors feel the subject be taught and learnt by the students.
