Media writing wad define as newspaper journalism, nearly 70 years later, when a string of deadly sniper shootings terrorized Washing, D.V. Virginia and Maryland in late 2000, television transmitted the ongoing drama live to millions of viewers around the country. Radio provided extensive coverage, print reports wrote reams of copy and public information specialists from federal, state and local law enforcement agencies interpreted events, as did legal experts and consultants hired by cable and traditional TV networks. Although the coverage was still identifiable as reporting, the technology, the immediacy it made possible and a 24-hour/7 days-a-week news cycle dictated a media writing environment far different from what had gone before. Media writing is more than a matter of gathering facts and putting words together.
