Slum is the out come of both push and pull factors of Rural and Urban Centres Slum is a well pervasive phenomena across the developing countries. Hence an humble attempt is made in this book in problems of the slum dwellers to help facilitate the policy makers to have appropriate strategies for amelioration of the same and hopes to maintain the slums as an integral part of urban life in its reality.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Manoranjan Acharya

Dr. Manoranjan Acharya obtained M.Phil and Ph.D degree from Utakal University, Vanivihar, Orissa in 1980 and 1999 respectively. He has started his academic career in 1979 and has served different colleges as a Reader in Anthropology and is presently working as Dy. Director, vocational Education in the State or Orissa. being a student of Social Anthropology, he has published 13 reports of multidimensional nature relating to rural, urban and tribal societies of Orissa and also has published 25 articles in different periodicals and journals of national repute.
