Here is a four-part series on the proceedings of the international conference on business and finance. Of these four volumes, Volume I is a compilation of research papers that focus on the theoretical concepts of corporate and international finance and the response of various Indian venture capitalists. Volume II consists of the findings of researchers and practitioners who have studied the link between stock returns and macroeconomic variables, and have then debated on the relationship between stock prices and money which works on a cause and effect basis in the deregulation of financial markets. This and much more in this volume about the market reaction to policy changes can be read here in great detail such as Internet-based trading, clearing and settlement; risk factors in Indian capital markets, etc. Volume III consists of a variety of conceptual and empirical research papers that look into the aspect of signaling of corporate dividend announcement, risk perception of individual investors, trade-off between risk and return, challenging asset allocation due to asymmetric information, fuzzy logic and the use of genetic algorithms to explain the well-known behaviors of financial markets and analysis on performance evaluation of mutual funds, among others. Volume IV begins with papers on Financial Reporting and Corporate Governance-interesting insights on Extensible Business Reporting Language and Reporting on Internet by Indian Banks are included.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR C. Vijaychandra Kumar
C Vijaychandra Kumar is a Faculty Member, ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad. He is M.Sc, CAIIB, DIM, DIC, LII, and CFA. He was a recipient of National Merit Scholarship twice, one at the degree and the other at post-graduate level. He secured university ranks in B.Sc and M.Sc (Physical Chemistry) from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati. He also secured a rank in the CFA Examinations of ICFAI. He has been teaching courses in finance and banking at ICFAI Business School for more than four and a half years. He served for about 25 years in one of the nationalized banks where he held faculty assignment for eight years. He was also the head of the faculty team at the bank’s staff training centre at Visakhapatnam, where he was also handling classes as guest faculty at the Academic Staff College, Andhra University. Prof. Kumar has already edited books on Credit Risk Management and Spirituality at Workplace.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Hilda Amalraj
Hilda Amalraj is a faculty member at ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad and is a fellow member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. She has been trained as an Information Systems Auditor and is well versed in Oracle Financials. She has corporate experience of five years in the capacity of Manager (Finance) with expertise in corporate finance, banking, credit appraisals, audit and taxation. She has been teaching at the ICFAI University for the past seven years in different professional programs of the institute which include CFA and MBA. She has conducted several Oracle Financial programs for professionals from the industry where she taught Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Auditing, Information Systems Audit, Taxation, Enterprise Solutions and Oracle Financials.

Vijayalakshmi Sedidi is a faculty member at ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad, an affiliate of the ICFAI University. She has done her Master of Commerce and Ph.D from Andhra University and has over ten years of teaching experience in reputed management institutes. Her areas of interest are financial reporting, forensic accounting, and earnings management. She edited books on cost management and related topics.
