ABOUT THE AUTHOR Chiranjib Chakraborty
Dr. Chiranjib Chakraborty, R&D Manager in Biotechnology, Glenmark Laboratories, (Pharmaceutical Company is well known for his notable contribution of different technology development in biological field. A Ph.D. from Vidyasagar University (West Bengal) and Marine Aquarium and Research Center (ZSI) did his post-doctoral research in USA. He is a recipient of several medals and awards including Snehalata Banerjee Gold medal from the Academy of Environmental Biology for the publication of best paper in 1998. Dr. Chakraborty started his professional career as Lecturer in the department of Industrial Fish and Fishery, Burdwan Raj College, West Bengal and also worked as Research Scientist in Biotechnology at Macleod Pharmaceuticals, Mumbai. He visited several institutes like IIT. Kharagpur; IIT, New Delhi; All Indian Institute of Medical Science, New Delhi; Department of Biotechnology; Jadavpur University, Calcutta; ERI ,Chennai and Lee and Nee Software export Ltd, Calcutta for exchange of his scientific ideas. He has a good number of original research papers, review articles and four books published both within and outside India. His unstinted efforts in research have enriched seed production biotechnology of prawns; production technology development & stability of recombinant pharmaceutical proteins and diagnostics technology development through computational biology like protein microarray.
