Public Administration

In the development of public administration and the need to find new systems and sets of relationships that will include (inter alia) participative models of organization, the formation of task groups, the development of teamwork skills and inter-team cooperative activity in governance and all related services attains prime importance. This book discusses community-wide, lifelong learning and covers all aspects of public administration and its management. Chapters are also devoted to regional governance. Although some attention is paid to the changing role of national government, the focus of the book is about how a governing body made up of ordinary people can make a positive contribution to the management and administration of a country. The field of corporate governance in terms of state bureaucracy has also been taken up. Previously, the area was seen merely as a branch of company law but corporate governance is concerned with the way corporate entities are governed, as distinct from the way businesses within those companies are managed. Each chapter begins with a brief account of the focal society’s features, followed by a description of its corporate governance framework and concludes with a statement of the current issues of importance within the country. A final chapter considers which of the systems is best in terms of the principles of freedom and accountability. This volume examines contemporary issues in public administration and includes discussion on a wide range of related topics. It will thus be of utmost importance to students and researchers in public administrations and governance as well as academics and practitioners.
