Quality Assurance in Distance Education and E-Learning: Challenges and Solutions From Asia

In a response to the need for developing QA systems through various stages of testing and development owing to the concern for quality in distance education (DE), the book details cases from institutions that throw light on good practices in QA for distance education/e-learning and analyses challenges vis-à-vis quality assurance of DE products and services. It deals with a wide range of QA systems and perspectives of quality in DE. It documents the regulatory framework covering quality assurance (QA) systems in distance education in East, South-east and South Asian countries—China, Mongolia, South Korea, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, the Philippines, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Paksitan as well as India. It examines the experience of 16 selected distance learning/e-learning institutions of Asia and throws light on the development of QA systems and procedures in the programmes.
