Refugee Problems in South Asia

The dimensions of refugee problem became so enlarged and complex during the interwar period that attempts were made through the setting up of international organisations to deal with the millions of refugees generated by the First World War and the break up of multinational empires. The lack of an adequate legal regime to ensure the rights of refugees, who as aliens are often among the most vulnerable members of society is an ongoing problem. This book is concerned with the refugee issues in a limited context of South Asian region. It examines the problems of South Asian refugees within the frame work of international responsibility, solidarity and humanity.
