Human Development, which encompasses within it the development of an individual from womb to tomb, has opened up a vast area for study for the researchers all over the world. The study of development is the study of how and why the human organism grows and changes throughout life. Research in the field of adult development in general and child development in particular is meager in India. The broad areas of human development covered in this book include physical growth of children, cognitive, social and emotional developments, pre-school education, integrated child development services, achievement motivation, personality, child care problems. Vocational interests of rural and urban children, aspirations of parents and children, attitude towards practicing, community, family and child welfare, exceptional children, child labour, family planning, mental health and adjustment problems of old age etc. It is hoped that these abstracts would help researchers, especially students and faculty members of the department of human development, to plan future projects and may also serve as reference material.
