One of the fundamental goals of education is to impart culture and values across the generations. Value education, is generally understood to cut across in the curriculum and is appropriate integrated into all courses as well as into the extracurricular activities and ethos of schools. Today, the true challenge of value education remains the development of a pluralist democracy and the equality of all human beings as the most important values that we may share. The book describes the need and importance of value education and education for human rights in the existing social scenario. ABOUT THE AUTHOR P.P. Vijayan
Born in 1964 in Kerala, P.P. Vijayan has secured postgraduate degrees in Political Science, Law and Business Management (MA, LLM, MBA). He did his research on the sensitive issue of reservation or Protective Discrimination. He was awarded PhD from University of kerala. He also had training in Information technology Management in Japan. Dr. Vijayan has been invited to lecture on Cyber law in many institutions throughout the country and abroad. His areas of interest are social justice and Information Technology. He belives technology can reduce inequalities in our society. He is currently, actively engaged, in the mission of providing maximum information technology education to the poor and underprivileged and thereby inducting more people into the knowledge society. Vijayan belives empowerment through education will help the underprivileged to achieve progress in the social and economic front. He is now researching post-doctorally into protective discrimination practiced I different countries on a global basis. He s in search of a universal doctrine of reservation or affirmative action.
