Resource Use Efficiency in Integrated Nutrient Management

This is a comprehensive study on the Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) of rice cultivation in Kaveripattinam, Tamil Nadu. If focuses on the over use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides by farmers which leads to the problem of alkalinity and salinity that leads to degradation of land which threatens future growth in production. This book discusses the new strategy of Integrated Nutrient Management Technique and how best the resources and inputs are used efficiently by the I.N.M. farmers and non-I.N.M. farmers in rice cultivation. It places emphasis on balanced nutrition to crops with a judicious combination of organic, inorganic manures and bio-fertilisers. This I.N.M. technique protects the soil health, reduces the cost of cultivation and increases the crop yield for the farmers.
