Rethinking Gender

The volume deals with the status of women in the present-day world expounding on their significant role in development even as their development has suffered. It discusses women’s equality and rights and other gender-related issues. It focuses on need for more opportunities of paid work/employment for women in a gender-friendly environment. The articles are on female foeticide and sex selection, sexual harassment of women, mental health of women, domestic violence against women and the use of the body as the site of humiliation, exploitation and resistance.
