Rethinking India seeks to unravel the intensive realities of the Nation-State in the emerging geopolitical environment. The book takes into account that instead of clash and conflict, cooperation and collaboration would be the new buzzwords of the 21st century, and that increasingly, progressive nation-states will be moving forward in that direction. They would neither have the time nor the inclination to indulge in protracted political games of one, upmanship, focusing instead on economic prosperity and social well-being.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Vinay Rai
Vinay Rai earned his graduate degree in Physics from St. Stephens College, Delhi University. He then completed his Science Bachelors and Science Masters in Engineering, from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA (class of 72). As a Cross transfer students from MIT, Rai also took up special courses at Harvard Business School. Today, as Founder Chairman of Rai Foundation and President of Rai University, Vinay Rai is progressive India’s icon for evolution and change. Although Vinay Rai hails from a business family and has been an integral part of the industry for 30 years, his foremost inclination has always been toward education and wellness. It is not surprising then that after attaining the acme of success in the corporate arena and after presiding over various all India industry associations, Rai is today engaged in educational pursuits (and true to his corporate legacy, he is yet again at the helm of affairs as President of the Association of Indian Private Universities!). His initiatives toward rekindling creativity in higher education while rejecting slavish mindsets are clearly aimed at helping Indians attain their rightful place on the global stage. A strong proponent of India’s Vedantic heritage that seeks to reconcile individual accomplishment and collective happiness, Rai is also credited with introducing in Indian higher education a unique Life Skills for Life Program. Aimed at equipping both students and teachers with innovative, entrepreneurial, problem-solving and responsible mindsets, this value-based orientation to education is renewing sensibilities and resetting standards for youth and adults alike. In the field of education Rai Foundation has established Rai University, NIILM University, EIILM University and Rai International School. In the public domain, Aspirations India focuses on fulfilling the aspirations of the youth; We the Women champions the cause of Women; Sanathan Sangeet Sanskriti seeks to revive India’s rich heritage in arts and culture; Rai Publications, Education Wire and Rai Education TV cover awareness on core issues of knowledge and public policy; Rai Endowments supports the education of under-privileged children; CARE is concerned with applied research, especially in rural India; and finally, Rai Healthcare is dedicated to promoting health, happiness and productivity of India’s vast human resource.
