From the preface: "Extensive search has been made for relevant literature from primary, secondary and tertiary sources, as well as by contacting various universities, medical institutions and individual researchers involved in activities related to medicinal plants. The Monograph on each plant includes regional names, habit and habitat, Ayurvedic description (wherever available), Sanskrit synonyms, uses ascribed, ethnobotanical studies, the details of botanical, pharmacognostic, chemical, pharmacological/biological, clinical and toxicological aspects backed by complete references on each aspect of the information cited. ABOUT THE AUTHOR A K Gupta

Dr. A. K. Gupta is Director (Education, Examinations and Accreditation) at The Institution of Engineers (India), Kolkata. Apart from teaching experience, the author is well versed in fields of curriculum development, preparation of study material for engineering students, and conducting professional engineering examinations. Dr. Gupta has several published research papers in reputed national and international journals to his credit. He is also the author of six other books on Mathematics, Engineering Management, and MIS.
