The book ‘Right of Dalit’ comprised of 12 papers and a broad-based introduction has presented an over all cognizance on the patterns and perspectives of the varied spheres of interaction that have been and are being effected in the long course of their journey through time and space. The issue discussed in this articles are multi-dimentional. Education, reservation policies and its implementation, position of women in tribal society, socio-legal status of Dalits are some of the interesting areas covered in this book. Article on Dalit women in changing Indian scenario is an eye-opener to many women organization. A Study on the judicial Intervention in reservation policy and genesis of scheduled castes and constitutional safeguards for them makes this book more contemporary and sensitive. This is not a study of Dalits alone, but an attempt to present a social, economical and political history of a fascinating area in a time of rapid change and also a contribution to the regional history of India. It is a prime necessity to present an analytical discussions on the Dalit issue to the sphere of such studies in the hope of doing an effective addition of some refreshed material to the literature on Dalits.
