During the recent past various extensive researches have been undertaken to examine the extent of changes have been emerging in the position of women as a result of increasing pressure of modernization and opening of various new avenues for women education and employment. But the implications of traditionally accepted values of society in this regard have largely been untouched. Since the women generally come out from the house for job as a result of modernity. At the same time they have to perform all traditional roles as housewife, mother, daughter-in-law etc. So it becomes a task for working women to make adjustment between home and work place. In this context, the present study highlights in detail regarding the multiplicity of roles, role conflict and problems of working women and its repercussions. The author recommends various important measures to be adopted as a policy within for improving the status of women and empowerment of women.
