This book looks at a few indicative aspects of rural infrastructure facilities in India without which the dream of achieving a sustainable economic development will not be achieved. The objective of this book is to take a long and hard look at rural infrastructure in all its aspects and to present examples of how various parts of the country and comparable developing countries have resolved problems in this area. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Padmanabhan Nair
P Nair is a Senior Consultant and member of the New Initiatives Group in the Icfai University. He has over 20 years of hands on experience in Banking, Financial Services, Business and Infrastructure Consultancy and Financing. During this period, he has worked with organizations like State Bank of India, 20th Century Finance Corporation, Industrial Investment Trust and GIIC (Gujarat Industrial Investment Corporation). He has worked on various policy initiatives regarding infrastructure and has participated in the creation of diverse institutional structures, both on the project financing and policy development fronts. He is the Consulting Editor of The Icfai Journal of Infrastructure and also contributes articles to a range of publications in the fields of Finance, Banking and Risk Management and Public Policy. A graduate of Delhi University and a PGDM from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, he has majored in finance and marketing. He has also been active in various fora and management associations like IIM Alumnus, Ahmedabad Management Association, Hyderabad Management Association, and Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce etc.
