Sally Morgan, a writer of tremendous potential, has to her credit a number of published works, the most significant of which is My Place. She has also established herself as a visual artist whose paintings reverberate and reinforce ideas and themes expressed in the work under study. This work has been a consequential text because the readers have taken cognizance of the responded to the historical implications of Morgan's story and relate spontaneously to her character and inclinations. The judicious blend of biography and autobiography offered in the text evokes implicit faith in the historical integrity of the narrative and in Sally's change of perspective which brought to the notice of the bulk of Australians the key issues affecting Aboriginal people in a non-conflictual manner.
