This book is an outcome of extensive empirical investigation undertaken by the Author in two blocks of in Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu on the percolation of benefits under the Indira Awass Yojana of Jawahar Rozgar Yojana which dealt with the comprehensive housing of scheduled castes. Since the topic is related to the Scheduled Caste welfare which involved collection of both secondary and primary data, the author had to put intensive efforts to collect the reliable and original data from various sources as well as from the respondents in the study blocks/district. He also got the support and assistance from Gos particularly DRDA in the collection o f secondary data in the study district. This book undertakes a comprehensive analysis of Group Housing Scheme (IAY) incorporating the salient features of Jawahar Rozhar Yojana, the benefits derived by the scheduled castes out this programme and impact assessments etc. This book is organized in to seven chapters, each chapter is focused on the issues and topics within the broad area of scheduled castes welfare.
