With the emergence of unclear family system the role of the school has assumed greater importance in shaping the personality of the child. So, it is but imperative that we study the environment of the school, where the students spend most of their time during their formative years. the craze of the parents to admit their children in private (public) schools as against government schools, in spite of heavy financial burden makes one pause and ponder; whether private schools are providing the necessary quality education and sharpening the abilities of the students better and thereby creating better citizenry. This book is based on the research undertaken by Zeenat Khader wherein she attempts to establish linkages between the value development in the students vis-a-vis the school environment. It has been proven in clear terms that teachers of a school having congenial environment enjoy working to the best of their abilities and as a result this leaves desirable effects on value development of their students.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Zeenat Khader
Zeenat Khader, the author of the book entitled "School Environment-Value Development"- An Indian Perspective, is currently the Director of the Institute of Higher Education under the aegis of the Delhi Public School Society, New Delhi and affiliated to the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi. She has been in the teaching profession for over 35 years inclusive of 15 years of exposure as admiristrator in the capacity of Headmistress and Principal/Director. She has the unique distinction of having taught at the primary, secondary, tertiary and University levels. A post-graduate in History and Education, Zeenat Khader has done her Ph.D. in Education from the Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. On the literary front, she has a remarkable distinction of having authored fourteen titles in Mathematics and English and has lent rich editorial support for a number of books in Social Sciences. Her innovations in the education arena include Academic Camps, Thematic Approach to Teaching, Human Centered Administration, Value Education through stories and facilitated the implementing of Credit Point based Evaluation for the B.Ed. Curriculum. During her association of over three decades with the educational sector, she has successfully commissioned over twelve 10+2 level integrated schools in India and abroad.
