ABOUT THE AUTHOR Kailash Chandra Mishra

Dr. K C Mishra is currently Director of National Insurance Academy, Pune, India. He has harnessed his experience in national and international institutions like ASCI, SPJIMR, Bank of India, World Bank, UTI as Board of Director and as Audit Committee Chairman, SEBI and as Advisory Committee Member, IRDA. He was a member of national level committees like K P Narasimham Committee, Envisioning Committee of which he was the Chairman. He has built many institutions at National and International levels like Maharashtra State Cooperative Deposit Guarantee Corporation, NIASOM, NIASEE and Insurance Institutes in Dubai and West African Countries. He is an active educational advisor of FAIR with Head Quarters at Egypt. He is a D.Litt. in management with post doctoral research and has visiting professor experience in reputed schools like Wharton’s Aresty Business School, Columbia University Business School, Connecticut University, World Bank Institute, SUNY at Buffalo etc. He has scores of academic awards and gold medals to his credit. He is the chairman or member of professional bodies and is an active doctoral research guide. In the last ten years, he has completed consulting projects for many national and international corporates like Nigeria Re, GIC, LIC, National Insurance Co, LPA, ECGC, United Western Bank, United Insurance, World Bank, ADB, North Western Hill Council, Prasar Bharati, ONGC, NTPC, Power Transmission Industry, Godrej, GTZ, SEWA and Tyndall Group, USA. Government of India, Ministry of Labour, Health, Electronics, Forest and Environment and Planning Commission frequently nominate him as expert advisor in specific areas. He has published seven textbooks and more than three hundred papers, case studies and research monograms in the last ten years.
