Social Changes in India and Swami Vivekananda

S. Babu, after completing his M.A. Degree in the Madras Christian College of Madras University, did his M.Phil. Degree in the University of Hyderabad. He obtained his Ph.D. for his thesis, "Sea-Borne Trade of India and the English East India Company, 1600-1657" from the Pondicherry University. He served in the Tamil Nadu Collegiate Educational Service for a few years, before joining as Lecturer in History at the Kanchi mamunivar Centre for Post Graduate Studies, Pondicherry. He has to his credit a few research articles in various publications.
