Social Institutions of Shia Muslims

The book is a humble attempt to add atleast a little to the existing scant empirical data available on Shias more precisely Shias of Lucknow. Attempt has been made to study the three major social institutions of Shias with the specific intention of not only procuring detailed ethnographic information on these institutions but also to identify the areas where significant gaps exist between the austere Islamic ideals and empirical realities.
