Focusing broadly on the need, methods and approaches for sustainable agriculture, a total of 15 well-written essays have been compiled in this edited volume. Most of the included pieces are research oriented and have been specially commissioned from eminent scientists based at different agricultural research institutions of India. Broad areas/themes covered in the book include among others: green manuring, customized fertilization, social quality analysis, allelopathy in soil management, importance of soil organisms, nutrient management in conservation agriculture, climate change and nutrient management, soil acidity, soil solarisation, and role of biofertilizers in restoring soil health.
