The present publication ‘Soil Science’ is an analytical study of the biosphere is a habitable composite space created by atmospheric, terrestrial and aquatic, environment. Soil is the top most layer of earth, which can be practically used for all our agricultural purpose. The soil formation is very vast, tedious and complex process, it is said that it takes about 200 years to make an inch of top soil competent to sustain agricultural output. Plants obtain water and essential nutrient from the soil. Animals depends on plants for their lives. Animals and plant residues find their way back to the soil and are decomposed by the teeming microbial population living. There life is vital to soil and soil is vital to life. Dr. M.L. Srivastava is an International Microbiology consultant, former consultant of Himalayan Group, Midland Coromandel Foods, BMG, Syp Export and green Village. He is the former advisor International Institute of Holistic therapy, Mexico (Latin America), former HOD and dean in Singhania Institute, Plani, rajasthan and working as a professor in SDCH and Medical College, Rishikesh and Director K.N. (P.G. ) College, Garhwal University, Roorkee, Uttranchal. Dr. Srivastava is also consultant of U.P. Science and technology department, Lucknow. Dr. Srivastava is the recipient of many awards, the notable ones being Outstanding national Bhartendu Harishchandra Award from Publication Division, Govt. of India for renowned work in journalism. He also received Young scientist Award from U.P. Govt., N.S.S. national science day and Wild Life work Award from societies and universities. He is the Author of more than twenty five books and many review articles in important expets of Food science, Environmental Pollution and Microbiology, related with Micro-organisms in Industry, herbal Medicine and Water. Dr. Srivastava is the professional member/fellow of Association of Food science and technology (AFST) Mysore, All India Food {Processing Association (AIFPA) Delhi. The Writer Bureau (Manchester) U.K. and The World Society of Alternative Medicine (U.S.A.). Today he also runs an NGO named as nature friend, which keep on working from to time and creates people awareness about preserving our nature heritage.
