Considerable commercial experience with soilless culture of crops has been gained since the first edition of this book was published in 1938; in fact, the quantity of data available has necessitated complete revision of the text. The new edition widens the scope of the original book, and it is hoped that both the practical hobbyist and the professional grower will be able to utilize the information presented. Further, it is felt that the revised edition offers possibilities as a general textbook for the agricultural student, both high school and college, who is interested in the soilless culture aspects of horticulture.
