The word 'Sri-vidya' means the mantras of 'Sritripurasundari'. Though the word "Sri", is associated with Goddess Laksmi – the Goddess of Wealth and Prosperity, but according to 'Haritayan Samhitas' & 'Brahmandpurana' etc. the real meaning of 'Sri' is "Mahatripurasundari'. Goddess Laksmi had worshipped 'Mahatripurasundari' and blessed to be worshipped as 'Sri' all over the world. The worshipper of "Sri" are blessed with the divine fruits which is also the result of worshipping "Sri-vidya". That is why "Sri" and "Sri-vidya" are one and same.
